This is a lot of fun, especially if you've ever been through a bad breakup or a divorce. It's so true. All of it. Rachel Samstat, our protagonist, finds out that her husband is cheating on her and proceeds to do the things people do. She wonders why, she gets her hopes up, she gets her hopes shattered, she perseveres some and she fails some. She's a great character, as can only be expected from Ephron.
I read some other reviews and despite that others didn't find the ending "happy", I thought it was perfect. It's the kind of book anyone could enjoy, especially with Meryl Streep reading it, but it would be the first book I'd mention to a friend going through a heartbreak. Between the writing style and the reader, it had a way of making me feel like I was commiserating with an old friend.
